Maxwell Elementary STLP

Maxwell Elementary School has been a continuous participant in the Kentucky Department of Education, sponsored STLP program since the Fall of 1997.  During that time, in addition to our regularly scheduled meetings, we have been regular participants in state and locally sponsored activities.  STLP, or Student Technology Leadership Program, is just what it implies.  It is a chance for students to spend time actively engaged in learning how to become leaders in the school and their community, while learning more about the technology that we employ here at Maxwell Elementary School.

The program is currently open to 4th and 5th grade students, under the direction of Mr. Brewer and Ms. Haynes.  Students are recruited at the beginning of each school year and meet weekly for an hour.  Maxwell students have been regular presenters at the Fayette County Tech Fair, held annually in the Spring.  Additionally, we have presented projects at the Region 5 STLP showcase, and even the KDE sponsored Kentucky Teaching and Learning Conference in Louisville, KY. 

Maxwell Student Technology Leadership Program goes for the Gold in 2005-2006!
