Treasurer’s Report We brought in $2,230 in the Invest in Your Child campaign, bringing the total to almost $8,000. The budget in $15,000.
Last year, in the Art to Remember program, we brought in about $1,700 more than we spent. Ms. Spurlin will be spending the remainder throughout the year for art supplies. In December, we spent $681 on that program.
We deposited $2,448 in prepaid yearbook orders. This bill should come in before the end of the fiscal year.
We are in very good shape, with $23,257 in the bank. We will be spending on that for the rest of the year and will only
realize a few thousand more in income. We are budgeted to end the year with a $19,700 surplus. We will probably make that goal.
Jody Casella questioned the surplus and all agreed to decrease it in the future.
President’s Report Jamie is still working on the Centennial celebration. It will most likely be held on a February weeknight, possibly on a Thursday. She will confirm with Mr. Donithan. Dana Sartin will coordinate photos and memorabilia. Jamie will contact Todd Wethall for a possible feature in the paper.
Old Business Becky Edwins said Los Amigos plans an immersion-wide directory for this year.
Stephanie Hamilton said that Invest in Your Child has brought in only $8000 to date. Monica Fowler remembered that Innisbrook warned that the first year would be great and the years after would see declines in donations. It was suggested that the Taste of Maxwell auction be beefed up. Stephanie will send another reminder in the yellow envelope and in the newsletter.
New Business Lydia Wainwright announced that the UK Opera will perform ‘Three Billy Goats Gruff’ in the cafeteria on Friday January 16, at 12:30 p.m.
Ann Armbruster suggested that the April meeting be held in the evening to provide a forum for the SBDM candidates
