Maxwell Escuela de Inmersion en Espanol PTA Board Meeting

March 4, 2003

 

Call To Order               The Maxwell Escuela de Inmersion en Espanol PTA Board meeting was called to order at 6:37pm Tuesday March 4, 2003 in the Maxwell cafeteria by president Monica Fowler.  Danielle Tussey as recording secretary.

 

Roll Call                       Those in attendance were: Monica Fowler, Danielle Tussey, Ann McKinley, Michelle Gardner, Melissa Wallace, Michaela Giles and Cindy Crane.

 

Approval of Minutes     Ann McKinley made a motion to accept February 2003 minutes and Cindy Crane second the motion.

 

Treasurer Report          Probably won’t bring in budgeted amount in membership (currently $64.00 short) or miscellaneous donations (currently $856.00 short).  What formerly was miscellaneous now goes to Invest in Your Child.

 

                                    Money is still coming for “Invest”.  We are currently only $4.00 short of our fundraising goal for “Invest” and “Taste of Maxwell” combined.  We only budgeted to net $200.00 on a spring event.  We have deposited $2,760.00 for year book sales (budgeted $2,600.00) and I hear more money is coming.

                                   

                                    Expenses:  The teachers are spending their money for classroom projects, which is good.  All expenses are well in line (or under).  Technology will go over a bit with the project we approved last time, but I think we will make some profit on year book to help off set that.

 

President’s Report        The T-shirt orders to help raise money for the salad bar went home today.  The salad bar could possibly cost $1,600.00

 

                                    Los Amigos wants to sell Kroger gift cards to raise money for the new playground equipment.

 

                                    We will not be doing the Time Trek insert in the yearbook.  Mr. Tibbitt’s will be creating the center of the yearbook.

                                   

                                    Committee’s (nominating and budgeting) need to be set up for next year.  Those interested in the budget committee were Jamie Shier, Michelle Gardner, Monica Fowler and Melissa Wallace.  Those interested in the nominating committee were Jamie Shier, Danielle Tussey, Ann Armbruster and Monica Fowler.

 

 

Other Business             Ann McKinley stated that Family Night is April 15th and the SBDM elections will take place that evening.
